Terms of service

Website: Where DDMouse Lives Address: https://ddmouse.family Last updated: 09/06/2026

These terms describe how "Where DDMouse Lives" (the "Site") may be used. The Site is a private family homepage, not a commercial product, so these terms are written simply — but by signing in or using the Site, you're agreeing to them.

1. Who can use this site

The Site is intended only for members of our family and anyone else we've specifically invited. Access to private pages is limited to Google accounts on our approved list, enforced through Cloudflare Access. Public pages may be viewed by anyone, but the private, sign-in-only sections are for approved family members only.

We can add or remove people from the approved list at any time, at our discretion, without needing to give a reason.

2. Your account and sign-in

  • Signing in uses your existing Google account — we don't create or store separate passwords for the Site.
  • You're responsible for keeping your own Google account secure. If you believe someone else has accessed the Site using your account, let the site administrator know.
  • Sessions expire automatically after a period of inactivity; you may be asked to sign in again from time to time.

3. Content you post

If you create or edit pages, upload photos, or post messages on the Site:

  • You keep ownership of anything you create or upload — using the Site doesn't transfer any rights away from you.
  • You're responsible for what you post. Only share photos, stories, or information you have the right to share, and be thoughtful about other family members' privacy — especially children's.
  • You grant the Site permission to display it. By posting content, you're allowing it to be shown on the Site to whichever audience (public or family-only) the page is set to.
  • We may edit, move, or remove content if it's posted to the wrong section (e.g. something private accidentally made public), or if a family member asks for their own content to be taken down.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't use the Site to:

  • Post anything illegal, harassing, or intentionally hurtful toward another family member or anyone else
  • Try to access private pages or another person's account without permission
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or probe the Site's security (including the Google sign-in or Cloudflare Access setup)
  • Post content on someone else's behalf without their knowledge, especially regarding photos or stories about them

5. Third-party services

The Site relies on outside services to operate:

  • Google — provides the sign-in system used to verify who you are
  • Cloudflare — hosts the Site, delivers its pages, and enforces access restrictions on private sections
  • GitHub (if used) — stores the Site's pages and edit history

Your use of these services (for example, signing in with Google) is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which we don't control.

6. No warranty

The Site is provided as a family project, run on a best-effort basis. We don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or free of the occasional bug or outage. There's no formal service-level commitment behind it.

7. Limitation of liability

Since this is a non-commercial, family-run site, it's provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted, the site administrator isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, including lost content due to technical issues — though we'll always try to keep backups and fix problems as they come up.

8. Privacy

Information collected through sign-in and use of the Site is handled as described in the Site's Privacy Policy. Please review it alongside these terms.

9. Changes to the site or these terms

We may update these terms, or change, add, or remove features of the Site, at any time. If we make a significant change, we'll try to let family members know directly rather than relying solely on an updated "Last updated" date here.

10. Ending access

We may suspend or remove anyone's access to the Site at any time, for any reason — most commonly just to keep the approved-users list accurate (e.g. removing an old email address). You may also ask to have your account access removed at any time.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms, or requests regarding your account or content, can be sent to [site administrator name/email].
